When you're the one who's sick
5:30am, fever, eight clients on the book. Normally that means texting everyone from bed and feeling guilty all day. With Friday it's one text, and she's kind about it to everyone, including you.
I'm sick. Fever. I can't come in today
FridayI'm sorry, feel better. I'll take care of today. Go back to sleep.
Update at 8:10: all 8 clients know. 5 moved to later this week, 2 went to Dom, and Mrs. Patel asked me to tell you she hopes you feel better soon. The last one I'm holding for you when you're up.
🥹 thank you
Owners don't get sick days. They get sick mornings spent texting eight people from bed, apologizing, rescheduling, then worrying all afternoon about the ones who didn't answer.
What usually happens
You go in anyway. Or you stay home and spend the whole day on your phone doing the rescheduling you're too sick to do well. Either way you don't rest, so you're sick for longer.
What Friday does
- Takes one text. "I'm sick" is enough.
- Tells every client, warmly, with a real reason and a real apology.
- Offers new times from your calendar, or moves clients to someone on your team who can take them.
- Handles the replies, including the ones who want to chat or send get-well wishes.
- Holds anything that needs you until you're up to it, and doesn't nag.
And she means it
The texts Friday sends aren't form letters. She knows which clients are regulars, which ones have an event coming up, and which ones will want to know you're okay. Your clients feel looked after even on the day you can't be there.
Rest is part of the job
You'll get better faster if you actually rest. Friday makes that possible.
